Five Details to Include in Your Next Kitchen Remodel

Entertaining and hosting often illuminates the shortcomings of a kitchen. Perhaps the sink doesn’t hold your serving platters, causing water to go everywhere when you wash it. Or maybe you don’t have enough counter space for every dish you need to serve.

Of course, it’s possible you’ve simply always dreamed of upgrading your kitchen and finally have the time or budget to do so. Whatever the case may be, below are five aspects our experienced team highly recommends you include in your next kitchen remodel.

  1. Plenty of outlets

You truly can’t have too many outlets in your kitchen. To avoid limiting yourself, include outlets everywhere - from your island to your pantry and countertops. Ensure there’s an outlet every few feet, allowing you plenty of options for your appliances (and phone chargers).

  2. An appliance garage

The increasingly popular appliance garage is a great place to store and hide all of your small counter appliances. It creates easy accessibility while preventing unwanted eye sores out on the counter.

  3. Countertop water filter

Who doesn't love fresh water on demand? Not all refrigerators, especially higher end brands, have water filters. That makes this a great, cost affordable alternative. Fridge filters are also notorious for breaking and can be hard to refill. Simply put, your renovated kitchen needs a countertop water filter.

  4. Under cabinet lighting

Under cabinet lighting provides direct light to help with cooking and food prep. Aside from the practical benefits, it elevates your kitchen’s ambiance and enhances the entire space.

  5. A quality vent hood

Without a quality vent hood, your brand new kitchen could quickly fill with smoke when cooking. To prevent this, you want one that is sized correctly for your stove and kitchen. Your local retailer, contractor, or HVAC subcontractor can easily help with this, so be sure to consult with them before moving forward. They will guide you on the correct dimensions for your space.

We also highly recommend a vent hood that comes with quality filters that are easy to clean. As these hoods pull grease out of the air, trustworthy filters that are easily accessible are extremely important.

At the end of the day, a remodel should result in your dream kitchen. Understanding and recognizing the small details can make a major difference in bringing your dream to life.
